Each year, OHA presents awards to recognize outstanding achievement in oral history. Nominations for the Book Award, Article Award, Elizabeth B. Mason project awards, and oral history in a Nonprint Format Award will be accepted through April 14. The Stetson Kennedy Vox Populi "Voice of the People" award is given each year to recognize an individual or organization for using oral history to create a more humane and just world. OHA will also honor an elementary or high school teacher who uses oral history in the classroom with the Martha Ross Teaching Award. Please consider submitting a nomination for an award and spread the word to your colleagues about the OHA awards program. Read the submission requirements at OHA Awards.

Funding of up to $4,000 to undertake oral history research in situations of crisis in the United States and internationally is available through the Emerging Crises Oral History Research Fund. These funds may be applied to travel, per diem, or transcription costs for research in places and situations in which a longer application time schedule may be problematic. Such crisis situations include but are not limited to wars, natural disasters, political and or economic/ethnic repression, or other currently emerging events of crisis proportions. Applications for research grant funding will be accepted through April 14. Learn more about the research fund at Emerging Crises.
