Aichi University Invites Applications for Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of American Studies

The Department of Comparative Culture in the Faculty of International Communication, Aichi University, Nagoya, Japan, invites applications for the position of Assistant or Associate or Full Professor of American Studies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a minimum of five 90 minute classes per week in English on the following topics: some Cultural Studies courses depending on your expertise such as Topics in Media Studies, Pop Culture, Social Cultural Issues in Films, American Cultural History, American Subcultures, American Religion and Society.


  • Ph.D. or equivalent in the field of American Studies (major) / Cultural Studies or a comparable field minor required. Additional ESL/EFL training/experience desirable. 
  • Native speaker of English or have a high level of English proficiency.
  • Teaching and/or Research Experience is/are required. International Experience desirable.
  • Staying in a house or an apartment within a commuting area (80km or less from the Nagoya campus of Aichi University), after being hired by Aichi University.
