The Public Program Section Announces Auction, Requests Donations and Volunteers

The Public Programs Section Auction will take place on Thursday, October 15, from 8:30PM – 10:00PM in the Centennial Terrace of the Westin Long Beach Hotel at the American Folklore Society Annual Meeting.

Come participate in this great tradition which raises funds for student travel awards.

The organizers need:

  • Volunteers who are willing to sign up to help set up and run the auction (you will have fun!) and clean up afterwards (you can volunteer for one, two, or all of these functions)
  • Donations of material culture/tours or both for a silent and a live auction

Please email Sue Eleuterio at if you can volunteer or Pat Atkinson at if you have an item to donate and would like a donation form.

The organizers understand that some section members will not be attending the meeting, however, this is one way you can continue to support student attendance at future meetings and the PPS Section.
