Folklorist Alan Govenar's musical play Texas in Paris made its off-Broadway debut last week and received praise from reviewer Laura Collins-Hughes in Friday's online New York Times. The play, based on a true story, follows what Collins-Hughes describes as "an unworldly odd couple of outsider musicians" from Texas on a trip to France to perform American folk songs while dealing with the racial tensions that arise along the way.
