Folk Arts Section of the American Folklore Society invites submissions through Sept. 25 for the annual Warren E. Roberts Prize for Best Student Paper in Folk Art, which offers a $100 honorarium for the best essay written by an undergraduate or graduate student on any aspect of folk art or material culture (broadly construed).

The entrant must be a student in an academic program or have graduated within nine months of the deadline for submission, and the paper must have been written for a course within the last two years. We hope instructors will encourage students to submit. Membership in AFS or the Folk Arts Section is not required.

Please see the Folk Arts Section page for further submission details.
