AFS Launches Press Room

This week, the AFS website went live with our first ever Press Room. Now journalists and other members of the media will have a designated landing page to help them find out more about folklore, AFS, and the great work our members are doing.

On the site, members of the media will find…
  • Current news stories featuring folklorists
  • Clear and approachable explanations of what folklore is and what folklorists do
  • Facts about the American Folklore Society and its work
  • Press releases announcing recent folklore research, events, presentations, and publications
We are particularly excited about our “Find an Expert” database that will allow members of the media to find folklorists based on their research areas and locations. Keep a look out in the coming months for an invitation from us to fill out your information so you can be included in the database.

We are still a work in progress, but check us out at: https://www.afsnet.org/general/custom.asp?page=AFSPressRoom. We look forward to working with you to help publicize our field, our work, and the diverse folk traditions we study.
