Special Issue of Ethnologia Europaea: "Re-enchantment, Ritualization, Heritage-making"

Ethnologia Europaea has released a new issue with a special themed section, edited by Alessandro Testa and Cyril Isnart. The themed section, "Re-enchantment, Ritualization, Heritage-making: Processes Reconfiguring Tradition in Europe," features the following pieces:

  • "Reconfiguring Tradition(s) in Europe: An Introduction to the Special Issue" by Alessandro Testa and Cyril Isnart
  • "Intertwining Processes of Reconfiguring Tradition: Three European Case Studies" by Alessandro Testa
  • "The Enchantment of Local Religion: Tangling Cultural Heritage, Tradition and Religion in Southern Europe" by Cyril Isnart
  • "Reconstruction as Enchantment Strategy: Swedish Churches Burnt, Rebuilt and Rethought" by Eva Löfgren
  • "Voicing Souls: Embodying Uncertainty in a Portuguese Borderland Village" by Pedro Antunes
  • "Ethnology's Hot Notion? A Discussion Forum on How to Return to 'Tradition' Today" by Alessandro Testa and Cyril Isnart

The special forum that wraps up the themed section highlights a discussion about folklore, anthropology, and ethnology among Christian Bromberger, Anne Eriksen, Jurij Fikfak, João Leal, Fabio Mugnaini, Ellen Hertz, Ronald Hutton, Anna Niedzwiedz, and Dorothy Noyes.

The issue also includes an open section, which contains the following pieces:

  • "Gender on Trial: Changes in Legal and Discursive Practices Concerning Sexual Violence in Poland from the 1970s to the Present" by Agnieszka Kościańska
