It’s official: MLA 2021 is going virtual. Conference organizers have expressed excitement in seeing how hosting MLA 2021 online will allow new modes of participation and encourage even more people to get involved.

Among the 700+ sessions being offered, many touch on themes of professional development, antiracist pedagogy, public-facing scholarship, and the future of the profession. Additionally, MLA is expanding the number of "just-in-time sessions" and inviting members to submit their proposals on timely topics and big questions. Instructions for how to submit proposals for just-in-time sessions, which are due September 22, 2020, can be found on the MLA website.

Registration for MLA 2021 will open in early September and the conference will take place January 7–10.
