The AFS History and Folklore Section announces a change to the guidelines of the Wayland D. Hand Prize for folklore and history: the deadline of June 1 remains but in consideration of limitations on staff members of presses, the History and Folklore Section has made an exception this year to allow for submission of electronic copies of books for judges. For more information, contact Simon J. Bronner at bronners@uwm.edu.

The biennial Wayland D. Hand Prize awards an outstanding book that combines historical and folkloristic perspectives. A work offered for consideration can be an authored book, edited volume or reference work, or exhibition catalog published between June 1, 2018, and May 31, 2020.
