Society for Ethnomusicology Seeks Nominations for Judith McCulloh Public Sector Award

Posted by: Alexandra Sanchez

Several years ago, to celebrate the life and contributions of the renowned public sector ethnomusicologist Judith McCulloh, the Society for Ethnomusicology (SEM) established the bi-annual McCulloh Award to recognize individuals and/or organizations working to further the field of ethnomusicology outside of academic institutions.

This year, the deadline for McCulloh Award nominations is June 1, 2020. If you know of know a person or a non-academic organization or a non-academic project that is (or has) significantly enriched public understanding of ethnomusicology, consider submitting a nomination for the McCulloh Award. The nomination itself is refreshingly short and uncomplicated. Nominees may apply on their own or be nominated by an SEM member.
