The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) announced the new funding guidelines for the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that will provide grants to help nonprofit arts organizations preserve jobs and help support organizations in the economic wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The application process is a two step process. All applicants must submit an SF-424, using grants.govon April 22 by 11:59pm EST. After this step, applicants will have from April 27–May 4 (11:59pm EST) to complete and submit their application. Applications are relatively short.

Eligibility is restricted to organizations that have received support from the Arts Endowment between FY17-20. Nonprofits will be eligible for $50K grants, which do not require a match, and which can go towards staff salary, fees for artists or contractors, or facilities costs like rent and utilities. Local arts agencies (LAAs) who have received funding between FY17-20 are eligible to apply for $100K–$150K to be used for subgranting.

To review the application process, see CARES Act Guidelines
