AFS Executive Board Supports Native Hawaiians' Efforts to Protect Sacred Space

Friday, March 20, 2020

The AFS Executive Board sent advocacy letters to support the Mauna Kea protectors, many of whom are traditional artists and cultural practitioners who consider the mountain sacred and seek limited use.  The letters, which advocate for the recognition of traditional rights in a months-long effort to stop the TMT construction project, were sent to Hawaii Governor, the Honorable David Y. Ige and Hawaii County Mayor Harry Kim.
