The latest episode of the Aria Code podcast focuses on the history and contemporary resonance of fairy tales and the Cinderella story in the context of Rossini’s opera La Cenerentola. It features Harvard-based folklorist Maria Tatar, as well as the internationally renowned opera singer Joyce DiDonato, writer Fred Plotkin, and a young woman who tells her own personal Cinderella story, Alma Salcedo.

Each episode of Aria Code, hosted by Grammy-winning folk artist Rhiannon Giddens, focuses on a single aria, bringing together a variety of voices to explore it musically, dramatically, historically, and from a contemporary perspective.  During the run of its first season, it was the #1 music podcast in iTunes across all music genres and has been glowingly reviewed by both The New Yorker and the New York Times. The show is a partnership between WQXR, New York Public Radio's classical music station, and the Metropolitan Opera.
