Important new information is now available for the 2019 Annual Meeting of the American Folklore Society, which will be held October 16–19, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Inner Harbor of Baltimore, Maryland.

Preliminary Program

The preliminary program is now available at https://www.afsnet.org/mpage/AMOnlineProgram

This draft contains all information that has been submitted to date, except for contact information. A more complete, revised program will be released in August.

Please review this preliminary program carefully and email us about any issues at americanfolkloresociety@gmail.com

We must receive all corrections by June 30.

If your proposal indicated that you were flexible about the duration of your presentation, please take note of the time block that you have been assigned. All other presenters have been assigned the time block they requested.

The work of the review committee is always exacting and difficult. We greatly appreciate their efforts and the work of our local planners to put together a strong and exciting meeting in the fall.

Registration

All presenters must register for the annual meeting; if you have not already registered, please do so now at https://www.afsnet.org/events/register.aspx?id=1197847&itemid=6753b450-e5e1-4cee-8f03-a93b02d15c77. You must be registered by June 30 to be included in the final program. In the future, essential communications about the annual meeting will be directed only to registered attendees.

Annual Meeting Policies

Be sure to review all of our annual meeting policies, including important information about cancellations and AV, at https://www.afsnet.org/general/custom.asp?page=AMpolicies. Don’t risk being treated as a “no-show”: remember that it is essential that you inform us directly of any changes in your presentation or panel so that we can update the program.

All Annual Meeting Information Posted to AFS Website

Check the 2019 Annual Meeting page regularly at http://www.afsnet.org/?2019AM for further announcements as our preparations for the upcoming meeting progress. At the moment, you will find links to reserving a hotel room and preconference opportunities. See below for direct links to some of these resources.

We look forward to seeing you in Baltimore!
