AFS Review: Did You Know...?

You Should Reserve Your Hyatt Room Using AFS Conference Link

If you want to stay where the action is during the AFS Annual Meeting, use the reservation information we provide to book your room; you'll find it linked to the 2019 Annual Meeting page under Local Information.

Using this reservation process benefits both you and AFS:

  • Some past meeting attendees have reported trouble with reservations made through third-party booking agencies, like surprise restrictions on changes or cancellations, including nonrefundable reservations. The terms of sale are dictated by the third-party agencies, not the hotel or AFS, so neither can provide any assistance in these cases.
  • Your stay in the conference hotel helps keep meeting costs down.Typically, the considerable cost of AFS meeting space is waived when a minimum percentage of guest rooms are booked in the conference block; if the agreed-upon number of guest rooms in the conference block are not filled, AFS is responsible for paying the difference. And the best way to be counted within the conference block is to book using the reservation information we provide.

We recommend booking early this year because of the popularity of the city and the fact that the AFS meeting overlaps with Baltimore Comic-Con.

You should also know that guest rooms must be reserved by September 16 in order to get the conference rate.
