Don’t Wait; Start Your 2019 Annual Meeting Proposal Early

The proposal process has an extra step for preorganized session proposals this year, so it is more important than ever to get a head start on submitting your proposal for the 2019 Annual Meeting. And because the system allows you to edit your submission, you can still take until March 31 to write that abstract!

Starting early is a must if you propose to participate in a preorganized session, because you should share your submission ID with your session chair by March 15 so that your chair will have time to complete the session proposal. Submit a place holder by then so that your chair can work on the session while you work on your presentation.

The principle is also true for all meeting participants: starting early ensures that you will have time and the full attention of AFS staff in case any unanticipated difficulties crop up.

See How to Submit a Proposal Online and Instructions for Submitting Each Type of Proposal for more information about the process.
