UT Austin Offers Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies

The Center for Women’s & Gender Studies at the University of Texas at Austin seeks to fill a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies for academic years 2019–2021. The Center is particularly interested in scholars doing intersectional work on race, gender, and/or sexuality. Additionally, those whose work engages one or more of the following fields are encouraged to apply:

  •  African Diaspora feminisms
  • Asian Diaspora feminisms (with research interests in the Pacific Rim)
  • Chicanx/Latinx feminisms
  • Indigenous Feminisms and Postcolonial Feminisms  (with research interests in religious studies and gender located, East Asia, Latin America, Islam, or the borderlands)
  • Queer of Color Critique.

The recipient will teach one undergraduate WGS core course, one graduate WGS core course, and one upper-division topics course related to the candidate’s research, per two-semester academic year (2:1 or 1:2). Fellows are expected to pursue an active program of research and participate in a scholarly community including faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates.

The Center for Women’s and Gender Studies is strongly committed to diversity and especially welcomes applications from people of African, Asian, Indigenous, and Latinx descent, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ persons, and others who will contribute to the program’s intersectional commitment.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have received a PhD within the last three years, including those who will graduate by August 2019. The successful candidate will demonstrate ability and interest in teaching core courses in the undergraduate major and M.A. programs and in contributing to program development and the intellectual community in the Center for Women’s & Gender Studies.
