The AFS Committee on Contingent Workforce Concerns wants to hear about your experiences as a contingent laborer to better understand the breadth of the landscape of the contingent work.

The American Folklore Society seeks information about the scope and impact of contingent labor as a starting point for conversations about how the Society can better support this constituency as contingent labor becomes increasingly common in all sectors of the economy.  The survey focuses on U.S.-based folklorists working in “contingent,” or institutionally vulnerable, positions (e.g., contract- or grant-dependent workers in academic and public sectors, including semester/year-based academic appointments such as clinical faculty, post-docs, and other non-tenure-track faculty positions).

If you have been employed as a contingent worker in our field in the United States within the last ten years, please complete the survey.

Find the survey at https://iu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_205UtPgOupYVbOl.

The survey is anonymous by default. However, we invite you to contact the chair of the committee, Martha Sims (sims.78@osu.edu) if you would be willing to participate in further conversation.

The survey will close November 30.
