You can apply now to take part in the AFS Mentoring Program as either a mentor or a mentee at the 2018 AFS Annual Meeting in Buffalo, NY!

Mentees and their mentors spend a minimum of a half-day together (the time you will spend together does not have to be only one day, it could be divided throughout the conference) during the meeting to make connections and exchange ideas. Proposed activities are at the mentor’s discretion, but potentially include attending meeting sessions together, a breakfast, coffee, or lunch date, introductions and conversations with other scholars the mentor knows, discussion of the mentee’s goals and interests, and personalized advice about the field. Mentees are encouraged to stay in touch with their mentors as a resource beyond the meeting.

If you are interested in volunteering to be a mentorplease take a moment to register with the Mentoring Committee by contacting Guillermo de los Reyes at jdelosreyes@uh.edu or Wanda G. Addison at w.g.addison@gmail.com. Your participation will be greatly appreciated.

If you are interested in applying to meet a mentor, please send a one-page letter of inquiry outlining broad professional goals, research interests (if applicable), and what you hope to accomplish by participating in the mentoring program, along with a CV to Guillermo de los Reyes at jdelosreyes@uh.edu by August 15, 2018.
