Are you decorating your grad cap for commencement this year? Have you decorated one in the past?
Join Dr. Sheila Bock from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for her study, “Decorated Mortarboards: Forms and Meanings,” which will be housed in the publicly available digital collections of The Ohio State University Folklore Archives. Simply post a public photo of your decorated cap with the hashtag #GradCapTraditions. You are welcome to include any accompanying information you’d like (e.g., year of graduation, major, university you graduated from, inspiration for your grad cap design), though this is certainly not required.
Not comfortable making your post/s public? Interested in sharing your experiences of decorating your cap through a survey or interview? Visit our page for additional options on how you can make your decorated mortarboard part of a lasting, archived tradition: https://cfs.osu.edu/archives/collections/gradcaptraditions.
