CFP: Historic Preservation Forum at AFS Annual Meeting 2020

In preparation for the launch of the Folklore and Historic Preservation interest section, this year's New Directions in Folklore Section is focusing on the future of preservation.

Potential topics include the changing cultural landscapes, intangible cultural heritage, the "urbanist" divide, and more humanistic approaches to the field facing threats from climate change, gentrification, and layered inequities. The section is also particularly interested in involving new voices to the discussion, so please send any ideas you have.

Forums are panel discussions designed for extensive interaction between panelists and the audience.

Please email Laurie Sommers at folklaurie@gmail.com and newdirectionsinfolklore@gmail.com if you're interested.
