Washington, DC — A free concert will highlight the diversity of art found throughout the United States with blues, tejano, and African-American religious singing; Irish dancing; and Native-American, African-American, and Ukrainian crafts.

All of the artists featured are recipients of a 2014 NEA National Heritage Fellowship, the nation's highest honor in the folk and traditional arts.

The 2014 National Heritage Fellowships Concert will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 8 p.m. EDT at the George Washington University's Lisner Auditorium. Nick Spitzer, host of public radio’s American Routes, will emcee this evening of performances, demonstrations, and conversations.

Prior to the concert on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 5 p.m. EDT at the Library of Congress the recipients will be honored in an awards ceremony. Both events are open to the public and managed by the National Council for the Traditional Arts.
