On Sunday, August 25, 2019, New York Folklore (NYF) in Schenectady will host a paper-making workshop with Tony Carlone from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  In this workshop, participants will explore the basics of paper-making and work with a variety of collected, harvested, and sourced natural fibers to create pulp for Western paper-making. Participants will also learn how to form sheets of paper and explore the possibilities of embedding materials such as dried flowers and plants, thread, and seeds. Suitable for all levels from beginners to advanced.

This workshop is a companion to the NYF’s current exhibit (through mid-September) of traditional Turkish paper marbling by ebru artist and Buffalo resident Hatice Erbas-Sorkunlu.

The workshop will be held at the New York Folklore conference space at 129 Jay Street and is $25.00 per person, $20.00 for NYF members.

For additional information and to register, please contact New York Folklore via email or the NYF web site.
