|AFS Special Projects|
In addition to its work on publications, annual meeting, prizes and awards, and interest-group activities, the AFS carries out special projects as a way to increase public understanding of the field, to support the work of Society members and their home organizations, and to build partnerships with other organizations.
Our current and recent special projects help us reach several of our most important goals:
2. They enable folklorists to serve communities throughout the US.
3. They connect the work of folklorists to the development, implementation, and evaluation of public policy.
Folklore and Historic Preservation Policy Working Group
World Intellectual Property Organization
4. They support the collaborative development of research tools and teaching strategies in folklore studies.
5. They connect US-based folklorists, academic programs, and public folklore organizations with those abroad.
For more information on any of these projects, please contact AFS Executive Director Timothy Lloyd.
