Doris Duke Charitable Foundation Offers Grants for Nonprofit Projects on Muslim Societies

The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation
is accepting "electronic postcards" for the 2014-15 cycle of its
Building Bridges Program.
Through the program, DDCF will award grants
of up to $300,000 to nonprofits in support of efforts to increase public
knowledge and understanding of contemporary Muslim societies through the arts
or media-based experiences. The program will support projects that create
current-day, immersive, interactive, collaborative, and/or engaging experiences
tailored to the needs and interests of the target audience(s).
To be eligible, applicants must have
501(c)(3) tax-exempt status; annual operating expenses greater than $250,000,
of which at least $50,000 must be used for professional arts or media
programming; and at least three years' experience providing arts and/or
media-based programs. In addition, projects must take place within the United

foundation of an organization's intent to submit a letter of interest must be
received no later than June 27, 2014. Organizations will then be required to
submit an LOI by August 15, 2014. Upon review, select organizations will be
invited to submit full proposals during the week of September 29, 2014.
Informational webinars will be held for all
applicants on Wednesday, July 16 and Wednesday, August 6, 2014. Applicants are
encouraged to attend at least one webinar.
