AFS Passes the Hat for Music at Annual Meeting

One of the great opportunities afforded by our annual meeting is the chance to enjoy a performance by local musical artists at our customary Saturday night event. However, the cost of this event is not covered by meeting registration fees, and ticketing raises obstacles—to would-be attendees, who would have to secure the tickets in advance, and to our staff, who would have to guard the door. This year, we are experimenting with keeping an open door, and passing the hat —asking everyone who would like to see such events continue at the annual meeting to make a contribution to an annual meeting entertainment fund. Proceeds will help cover the cost of the dance at this year's meeting in Providence; if contributions are particularly generous, we will have a head-start on next year's meeting in Santa Fe.
