Starting its eighth year of operation, the Journal of Folklore Research Reviews publishes quality reviews of scholarly works of interest to folklorists and fellow travelers, and distributes these reviews swiftly by sending them directly to the electronic mailboxes of subscribers. To assure a reasonable degree of permanence in this transitory cyber world, all reviews are preserved on the Journal of Folklore Research website at http://www.indiana.edu/~jofr/. In 2012, JFRR published 94 reviews, mostly of books, but on occasion of CDs and DVDs, written by 77 reviewers, and mailed electronically to 1000 subscribers distributed literally all over the world.

New subscribers are welcome! Subscription to JFRR is free of charge and delivers the benefit of keeping current with the lively world of folkloristic research. To subscribe, send a note to jfrr@indiana.edu.

JFRR's sponsor, the Journal of Folklore Research, continues to publish in print form original research articles and selected reviews from JFRR. Visit the JFRR website for further information on the journal and the e-mail review service, as well as the permanent archive of reviews published by JFRR: http://www.indiana.edu/~jofr.

This year, editor John McDowell and associate editor William Hansen are joined by Henry Glassie as associate editor; also, Kristina Downs will serve this year as editorial assistant.
