Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28 at John D. Calandra Italian American Institute, New York, NY

This two-day conference offers a venue for investigating new approaches to white ethnicity—-from theoretical considerations to case studies-—that are mindful of current thinking on race, identity, and expressivity. Keynotes by Yiorgos Anagnostou ("Ethnic Acts: On 'European Ethnicity' Cultural Politics") and Sabina Magliocco ("White Ethnicity and the Discourse of Authenticity in Modern Paganisms"). Cosponsored by the Center for Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, Queens College/CUNY.
