The Journal of Folklore Research changes and stays the same

The editorial team at the Journal of Folklore Research is pleased to announce that we have adopted a new online submission process. To submit an article, go to our website at You will be redirected to our online submission page where you simply complete the registration process and follow the onscreen directions.

This system will allow us to review and respond to your work more promptly. Since July 2010, we have already been using this system to work with authors and reviewers during the editing process.

We have also simplified our citation style. Effective immediately, JFR style for citations and references will be identical to Chicago B (16th edition). Details and examples of this style may be found on our website.

The mission of JFR remains unchanged: we will continue the highest standards of folklore publication established during our last forty-eight years by publishing the very best theoretical and ethnographically rich work in our field. We invite you to send us your best work for consideration and to alert other folklorists to this outstanding publishing opportunity.
