Hugo Freund Receives Fulbright Visiting Chair and Professor of History award at Dalhousie University

Hugo A. Freund, Professor of the Social and Behavioral Sciences in the Department of Social and Behavioral Science of Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky, has received a Fulbright Visiting Research Chair and Professorship of History at The Dalhousie Institute on Society and Culture, and the Department of History, of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. His research topic is "Culture and Identity: A Transnational Study of Communities Living in the Appalachian Mountains of Canada and the United States.” This Fulbright-supported research examines the relationship of people and their culture to a specific kind of place: the Appalachian Mountains.
