The Folklore Program at the University of Oregon is pleased to announced
a new public sector track in its folklore MA/MS program as well as new
requirements for the general MA/MS. We have posted the new requirements
for the public sector and general tracks on our website. Please see our
hot-off-the-press new Folklore Graduate Handbook, also available on the website, for a detailed account of all our requirements and policies.
are especially excited by the public sector track because of the recent
establishment of the Oregon Folklife Network (OFN), Oregon's statewide
public folklore organization, on the UO campus. Our students pursuing
the public sector track will benefit from classroom experience training
them for applied folklore work, and the OFN will provide them with
opportunities to gain firsthand professional experience and to network
with professionals in the field.
