Dialogue: Learning Through Meaningful Engagement

October 12, 2011, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Biddle Hotel and Conference Center, Indiana Memorial Union, Indiana University

The AFS Independent Folklorists' Section and Public Programs Sections are pleased to jointly offer a full day (9-4) professional development workshop on Dialogue Facilitation in Bloomington, Indiana, at the Biddle Hotel and Conference Center, on Wednesday, October 12th, 2011, prior to the annual AFS meetings.

The workshop, Dialogue: Learning Through Meaningful Engagement, will be led byTammy Bormann, an educator with 25 years of experience teaching groups and organizations how to engage in effective dialogue. She has worked with folklorists, community museums, non-profits, and universities in the past, and brings with her an understanding of public and applied folklore work.

If you could use new tools for leading workshops and meetings,engaging your students,dealing with controversial issues, and fostering inclusion, this is the workshop for you.
