The 2011 AFS member survey, designed to
give the Executive Board timely and accurate information about AFS
members, their professional status, and their perspectives on the
Society's present and future activities, is now available securely
online at the Survey Monkey web site.
most cases, this year’s questions follow along the same lines as those
in our other member surveys, conducted in 2002 and 2006, so we can
compare information from the three sets of responses. In some instances,
however, there are new questions, because the Society’s repertory of
activities, and the opportunities and challenges you and we face, are
different today than they were five or ten years ago. Please know that
we will take your responses seriously. The time you spend on this—it
should take you no more than 30 minutes, depending upon your
responses—will be well spent.
Two rules to bear in mind:
The survey allows only one response per computer, so if there are
multiple members in your household, please use different computers to
submit your responses.
2. If you leave the survey before
completing it, you will be able to return and finish it at a later time,
but once you submit your responses you will not be able to return.
responses will be anonymous. If the survey raises specific questions
that you want to take up with the Board, please send them to us via AFS
Executive Director Tim Lloyd at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Or, if you prefer, you can write your questions—and, if you wish, your
name and address—at the end of the survey in the "other comments"
Please accept our thanks for your time and thought in
completing this survey, and for your continuing support of our field and
Society. We'll be reporting on your collective responses in the AFS Review.
