The Department of Performance Studies at Texas A&M University is now
accepting applications for its MA in Performance Studies with emphasis
the ethnographic examination of vernacular culture. The department has
faculty strengths in Africana studies, dance studies, ethnomusicology,
folklore, performance ethnography, popular music studies, religious and
ritual studies, theatre and media studies, and women's and American
studies. Performance Studies is also in the midst of a five-year
initiative designed to build inter-institutional research networks,
increase visiting scholar and artist residency programs, and provide
additional research and creative opportunities for faculty and students.
Our graduates have received travel support for conference presentation
and serve as assistants in the classroom and in our production programs.
For full consideration, including assistantships, applications must be
received by February 15, 2012. Information on the application process
available athttp://performancestudies.tamu.edu/performance-studies, or
