On March 4, 2018, Sunday at The Met presented a special program on a foundationally influential photographer titled "William Eggleston: Los Alamos," featuring Jeff L. Rosenheim (The Met) and William R. Ferris (University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill) as discussants. This presentation builds on the current photography exhibition at The Met of the same name, which features a landmark gift of Eggleston's famous portfolio Los Alamos made to the museum by Jade Lau. Containing Eggleston's first color photograph, this portfolio is made available in its entirety for the first time in NYC in this exciting exhibition (running February 28–May 28, 2018). For more information about the exhibition, visit The Met's website.

Ferris brings his extensive knowledge and experience with visual and ethnographic representation of the southern United States to this engaging discussion of Eggleston's influential work in color photography and its enduring legacy.
