The theme for the next Modern Language Association Convention (Chicago, January 3–6, 2019) focuses on textual transactions as "mutually constitutive engagements of human beings, texts, and contexts." This offers a special opportunity for folklorists to explore the dimensions and benefits of using folklore texts and theory in teaching. Send a 300-word abstract and brief CV to Jim Deutsch ( and Shelley Ingram ( by March 18, 2018.
