New Directions in Folklore (NDiF) has announced its latest issue: Vol. 15, No. 1/2 (2017), titled “The Folk Awakens: Star Wars and Folkloristics."

This guest-edited special issue features work by Markus A. Davidsen, Christine J. Widmayer, Jared L. Schmidt, Anelise Farris, and James I. Deutsch tackling a range of topics from Jediism to fake news, and is hopefully just the start in a new avenue of research between popular culture and folklore.

The Editors invite you to review the issue here: https://scholarworks.iu.edu/journals/index.php/ndif/issue/view/1564.

New Directions in Folklore is the refereed online journal of NewFolk, a community of over one hundred scholars, professionals, students, and interested laypersons dedicated to pushing the envelope of scholarship in the exploration of contemporary culture.
