Come take part in a community discussion of the "State of the Labor Force: Building Support Systems for Sustainable Employment in the Field” at the 2017 AFS Annual Meeting.

We need your input in this session facilitated by members of an AFS Committee on Contingent Workforce Concerns in the field of folklore. If you work or have worked as an adjunct, an independent public folklorist, a consultant/independent or are a newly minted graduate, this session is for you!

Hear the latest reports about the status of different fields and work environments, contribute ideas for a survey that the committee is generating on the state of the field, and brainstorm ideas for professional development sessions for 2018. The committee will incorporate this discussion into a report on contingent-worker needs to be presented to the AFS Executive Board.

(Friday, October 20, 10:15 am-12:15pm, Crystal Lake; sponsored by the American Folklore Society)
