Hanna Griff-Sleven and I are curating a pop up museum on the theme of “Fieldwork Stories” as a forum at the 2016 American Folklore Society meetings in Miami. We have several forum participants formally committed to share an object and the story behind it, but we want to open up the exhibit to all in the true spirit of Pop Up culture.

If you are interested in bringing an artifact from your fieldwork experience (or, a photo or illustration of one if the actual artifact is too large or fragile to bring) and participating in this interactive forum, please let us know so we can plan for set-up.  If you would rather just observe and interact with those who bring items to share, please mark your calendar for 2 p.m. on Friday, October 21 in Japengo and make time to stop by and enjoy our Fieldwork Stories, and bring a friend!

If you would like to know more about Pop Up Museums and get ideas for writing a label and displaying your item should you wish to bring one, see the description and visit http://popupmuseum.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Pop-Up-Museum-Edited.pdf

See you there!
