AFS Seeks Membership Coordinator

The American Folklore Society seeks applicants for a 29-hour position, Membership Coordinator, which will convert to a full-time position on February 1, 2017. The successful applicant for the part-time position will be eligible to apply for the full-time position when it is posted in January 2017.
The Membership Coordinator is responsible for membership management including all information management, membership communications, expanding membership through marketing and recruiting, managing and maintaining member data, managing member services and benefits.
The Membership Coordinator is also responsible for all financial transactions for the Society, including working with the Executive Director to prepare annual budgets and grant proposals, and managing the day-to-day financial activities of the Society, including daily account management, cash flow analysis, financial projections, reporting, payment processing and monitoring PCI compliance, purchasing, ensuring compliance to AFS Board financial and personnel policies, and managing grant accounts.
The Membership Coordinator also serves as the managing editor and designer of the AFS annual conference program book, annual organizational report and other AFS publications. Assists in the planning and production of the AFS annual conference including managing onsite operations (supervising hired and volunteer registration and other event workers), coordinating activities of venue and conference personnel, and serving as primary point of contact and problem-solver for all conference attendees.
