The following is a list of new online resources designed to encourage classroom use of Alan Lomax's pioneering 1938 audio and video field recordings from Michigan and Wisconsin. The lessons are featured in the online Teacher Resources section of the Association for Cultural Equity (ACE) website [http://www.culturalequity.org/rc/ce_rc_teaching.php]. The original field recordings are newly digitized and accessible for a wide variety of classroom uses [http://www.loc.gov/collection/alan-lomax-in-michigan/about-this-collection/]. The ACE teacher resources, which package selected recordings in lessons for social studies, language arts, and music students grades 3-12, are part of ACE’s commitment to return these recordings to their home state and to the communities where Lomax recorded in 1938.
