Due to a recent renewed interest in the Robinson-Roeder-Ward prize, the AFS Folklore and Education Section is opening a call for proposals, with the deadline of March 25, 2016.
The prize awards $300 in travel funds to a classroom teacher or other educator who is planning to join an organized session at the upcoming 2016 American Folklore Society meetings in Miami. Read more about the prize here: http://www.afsnet.org/?page=FolkloreEd
Applicants should send a proposal in letter form to Betty Belanus, Senior Convener, AFS Folklore and Education Section, at email@example.com, stating the following:
Experience as a K-12 classroom teacher or educator in another setting.
AFS organized session which you intend to join as a participant, and how you plan to participate (presenting a paper, being a member of a forum, as a discussant, etc.)
How travel funds from the RRW prize will aid in participation.
The RRW committee, made up of members of the Folklore and Education Section, will review the proposals and will contact the successful applicant by March 27, 2016.
