As part of its on-going project to increase the quantity and quality of Wikipedia pages on folklore topics, AFS is offering a lunch-time Wikipedia workshop at the Annual Meeting on Friday, October 16. The workshop, led by Virginia Siegel (Kentucky Folklife Program), will feature a basic tutorial on best practices for creating and editing Wikipedia pages, and will also serve as an opportunity for participants to make suggestions for the growth of this initiative. See http://www.afsnet.org/news/252282/Help-Guard-the-Frontline-Find-Out-How-to-Edit-Wikipedia-at-Annual-Meeting.htm for more information.

Siegel has created a detailed guide that can be used at home. If you would like to attend the training with the guide in hand, please download the guide now. You may also download a Wikipedia guide created by the Wikimedia Foundation, "Editing Wikipedia."
