The Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage and ePals – a “community of collaborative classrooms engaged in cross-cultural exchanges” – invites students ages eight to eighteen to participate in the Global Folklorist Challenge. As part of the Challenge, students will identify and interview local tradition bearers in order to research, document, and present (through the creation of a short video) cultures and traditions in their surrounding communities.
The submission deadline is November 30, 2015. Winners will be announced in December and then go on to be finalists in the ePals Choice Awards. Anyone may vote online for their favorite finalists from December 18 to January 3.
