In August, new Membership Director Paulina Guerrero and 2015-2016 graduate assistant Shannon Larson began work for AFS. Guerrero will will take a leading role in managing AFS's relations with its members and in building and strengthening Society membership, and will also take on important roles in AFS's day-to-day financial activities, annual meeting, and communications. Larson will become centrally involved in the Open Folklore partnership between AFS and the Indiana University Library, and will also assist with Society communications and administration. We welcome them both and look forward to the contributions they have already begun making to the Society and field.
At the end of this month, Rob Vanscoyoc will leave AFS, where he has served as Administrative Associate since June 2011. In addition to his day-to-day work on AFS administration, Rob has been the designer and production editor for our annual meeting program book and annual report. His creative and thoughtful contributions to AFS work and to our small-office culture have all been exemplary. We will miss him greatly, but we wish him the best as he pursues graduate training in the nursing profession.
