PhD candidates researching grassroots development work, especially work taking place in Latin America and the Caribbean, are invited to apply for the Inter-America Foundation's Grassroots Development Fellowships. The foundation, which was created to "fund the self-help initiatives of the organized poor" in the aforementioned regions, will provide a research allowance and monthly stipend to awardees for a period of 4–12 months. To be eligible for the awards, applicants must have reached the candidacy stage of their studies by the time their funded research is initiated.
