An October 2014 tour of China featuring five American scholars who perform the music they study is the subject of a recent article in Vermont's Burlington Free Press. The article, authored by project participant William L. Ellis, reports on the so-called "US-China Center Traveling Folksong Revival Workshop," a two-week cultural program of lectures and concerts sponsored by the US State Department and organized, with help from the American Folklore Society, by the US-China centers at Vanderbilt University and The Ohio State University.
