Folk Arts Section of the American Folklore Society invites submissions
through Sept. 25 for the annual Warren E. Roberts Prize for Best
Student Paper in Folk Art, which offers a $100 honorarium for the best
essay written by an undergraduate or graduate student on any aspect of folk art
or material culture (broadly construed).
The entrant must be a student in an
academic program or have graduated within nine months of the deadline for
submission, and the paper must have been written for a course within the last
two years. We hope instructors will encourage students to submit. Membership in
AFS or the Folk Arts Section is not required.
