At its April 11-12, 2014, meeting on the Ohio State University campus in Columbus, Ohio, the Society's Executive Board took the following actions:
Approved the minutes of its October 2013 meeting
Created an ad hoc committee to plan and coordinate the AFS mentoring programs that take place at the annual meeting
Selected the next editors of the Journal of American Folklore
Selected the recipient of the 2014 AFS Lifetime Scholarly Achievement Award
Created a new AFS award for lifetime service to the field, and selected its first recipient
Approved 2014-2015 performance objectives for the Executive Director
Approved the revision of the Society's long-range plan
Approved the Society budget for 2014-2015
