The National School of Folklore ‘José María Arguedas’ (NSFJMA) and the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima (MML) invite you to participate in the XXIII National and XII International Congress of Folklore, "Roel Tarazona Padilla."

Call for Abstracts


  • Identify the place of the folklore on the latest scientific approaches.
  • Define the effects of migration and knowledge in the folk practices.
  • Analyze urban reworkings of old folk practices.
  • Identify new folkloric expressions and their confrontation with the market.
  • Analyze the role of new aesthetic in the repositioning of human geographies migrants in contemporary cultures.
  • Define the presence of alternative cultural history, supporting the recording and analysis of accumulated inheritance from multiple disciplinary perspectives.
  • Analyze the educational and legislative systems in their mechanisms of exclusion and / or inclusion of practices and folk subjects.
  • Register updated perspectives on folkloric practices.


  • Call February 17, 2014
  • Receipt of abstracts February 27 to April 27, 2014
  • Selection of suitable papers to be exhibited from April 27 to May 31, 2014
  • Delivery of full papers June 1 to July 11, 2014
  • Congress Folklore August, 5 to 9, 2014

General Information

To be considered, speakers of the Congress should apply by sending summaries of their presentations in no more than 250 words. Also, include the title of the paper and not more than five keywords, according to the following scheme:

The abstracts will be evaluated by an international scientific committee. They should be sent complete no later than July 11, 2014.

Language: Spanish

Abstract: maximum 250 words

Keywords: maximum 5

Presentation: maximum 12 pages, including bibliography, appendices and notes to footer; use Times New Roman 12; The author's name and institution to which he belongs without bold

Headings: major headings in bold, italic subtitles

Abbreviations: the first time they appear should be written its full meaning, then abbreviations.

Long quotations (more than four lines): indented right and left unquoted and italics, in smaller font (Times New Roman 10)

Short quotations: quotation marks only

Graphics, tables, or images: maximum 5 and a resolution of 300 ppi (pixels per inch)
